Observe All Souls Day the first weekend in November with your own ceramic luminary. Commonly observed in Sweden as a moment to remember loved ones who have passed away by lighting luminaries in the cemetery, students are invited to create their own ceramic luminary to light up the dark nights in this evening long class. While enjoying a complimentary beverage from FIKA Café, students will select a pre-shaped luminary (about 4” tall) and focus on adding decorations through carved designs, then select from multiple glaze options. Instructor Kim Burnham will take the luminaries back to her studio to fire them, then return them to ASI for pick up before All Souls Day on November 4.
A $25 materials fee is paid to the instructor in class and covers all tools and materials. This class is suitable for ages 21+.
