Block Printed Swedish Motifs

Try a new craft and create textiles while learning a centuries-old technique: printing with hand-carved wooden blocks. Work with a unique set of Swedish motif printing blocks designed by the instructor to create beautiful and charming textiles. In this evening-long class, students will print alongside Katrina Ulrich, a textile artist trained in block printing in the Indian tradition. Katrina works with printers and hand carvers in India to bring this cross-cultural tradition to you. She offers a range of mixed printing inks in various colors and multiple textile options for the final project, including dish towels, tote bags, and scarves.

Skill level: Open to all skill levels.

Ages: Suitable for ages 14+.

Tools & Materials:

A $20 materials fee is due to the instructor in class. This covers all tools, materials, and several small projects, such as a tote bag or dish towel, to take home.
