A Turkish Lunch

Join Rana for a hands-on workshop to create a summery Turkish spread! In this class, students will practice making börek, a flaky pastry filled with fresh cheese, a shepherd’s salad bursting with summer produce. Two classic side dishes, muhammara made with roasted peppers and walnuts and cacik, made with yogurt and cucumber, will round out the meal. As students work, they’ll hear more about the ingredients and dishes from Rana’s native Turkey. Students will enjoy a light lunch before heading home with prepared börek to fry for another meal.

This is a workshop-style class that includes some participation in preparing a light meal. Coffee and tea are provided; additional beverages are available for purchase prior to class. Please note that this menu contains gluten, walnuts and dairy, so please reach out if you have questions about dietary accommodations.

ASI’s food programs bring people together to celebrate, learn, and share stories through cooking workshops, demonstrations, dinners, and lectures. This new series, Our Shared Table, highlights our neighbors’ kitchens and how food traditions evolve through the universal experience of migration and exchange.
